The Final Word by Helen Roush

In a recent article from Carbon Herald, it was announced that The Frontier signed an agreement with CO280 and Crew Carbon investing $80 million in CO2 removal.

The article states that "CO280 will receive $48 million from Frontier buyers to remove 224,500 tons of CO2 between 2028 and 2030, while CREW Carbon will receive $32.1 million to remove 71,878 tons of carbon dioxide between 2025 and 2030."

The article goes on to state that "This decision is yet another bold step in Frontier's vision of accelerating the advancement of carbon removal technologies. The coalition, founded by Stripe, Google, Shopify, and McKinsey Sustainability, is making this investment with participation from its members Autodesk, H&M Group, Workday, and Salesforce."

Frontier's website states that "Frontier is an advance market commitment (AMC) that aims to accelerate the development of carbon removal technologies by guaranteeing future demand for them. The goal is to send a strong demand signal to researchers, entrepreneurs, and investors that there is a growing market for these technologies. Importantly, Frontier aims to help create net new carbon removal supply rather than compete over what exists today."

We'll keep you apprised of further developments.
