Allnorth Americas LLC (Allnorth) is pleased to announce the acquisition of Sheppard Engineering, LLC, (Sheppard Engineering), a full-service engineering consulting firm based out of Atlanta, Georgia. The agreement is effective October 1, 2021.

International technology Group ANDRITZ has received an order from Volga Pulp and Paper Mill in Balakhna, Nizhnij Novgorod Region, Russia, to supply a new OCC line as well as to convert its PM 6, a newsprint paper machine, to a packaging paper machine. Start-up is scheduled for the spring of 2023.

Andritz has successfully started up a stock preparation system supplied to Vinda Personal Care (Guangdong) Co., Ltd., as part of its tissue production at the mill in Yangjiang, Guangdong, China. With this new line, there are now more than 20 stock preparation systems from Andritz operating in different mills belonging to the Vinda Group.

Valmet will supply a high-capacity OptiWin Pro winder to Norske Skog's Golbey mill in France. The main target of Norske Skog Golbey is to have one winder to handle the 550,000-tonne capacity of the converted high-speed and high-capacity paper machine PM 1, following the paper machine conversion from production of newsprint to production of recycled containerboard.

Valmet will supply a coated board making line and a bleached chemi thermo mechanical pulp (BCTMP) production line with automation solutions, as well as spare parts and consumables packages to one of its customer in Asia. The board making line with high productivity will produce very high-quality folding coated board grades.

Toscotec successfully started up a TT SYD Steel Yankee Dryer at Cartiera Ponte d'Oro Ansalcarta in Villa Basilica, Italy. The new Yankee replaced an existing cast iron dryer installed on PM1 in 1993 by Officine Meccaniche Toschi, which was renamed Toscotec in 2003.

Andritz has received a repeat order from Starwood Orman Urunleri Sanayi A.S. to supply the third complete fiber preparation system for its MDF production lines in İnegöl, Turkey. Start-up is scheduled for the end of 2022.

The new systems will have a total production capacity of 2.5 million tons per year and are scheduled to start up in 2022 and 2023.

Kemira has opened its new APAC R&D center in Pujiang Town, Shanghai, China, to meet rapidly growing market demand and accelerate efforts to develop renewable, biodegradable and recycleable products in the Asian region.

Valmet will supply Valmet IQ Scanners and Valmet IQ Dilution Profiler to Xinxiang Xinya Paper Co., Ltd. in China. The systems will be installed on Xinxiang Xinya Paper's paper machine PM2 to improve production runnability and end-product quality.

Valmet and UPM have signed an extension of the existing maintenance operations agreement for UPM's Platting mill in Germany, for an additional three years.

Kemira announces a significant investment in the production of alkenyl succinic anhydride sizing agent (ASA) in China. ASA is one of the most effective and cost-efficient sizing agents for improving water-resistance in paper and packaging board.

Bellmer to supply upgrades for kraft liner board machine at Sappi's Ngodwana mill in South Africa. Sappi Ngodwana is an integrated Paper Mill producing kraft pulp and kraft liner board. It is located in Mpumalanga province, South Africa.

Start-up of the new equipment is planned for the end of 2022.

Valmet concluded on September 9th the delivery of the evaporation and white liquor plants in Project Star, the new Bracell's dissolving pulp mill, located in Lençóis Paulista, state of São Paulo, Brazil. The delivery includes equipment of high technological level, in terms of technical, energy and environmental performance.

Eco-friendly alternatives to petroleum-based packaging have long been sought. An innovative and sustainable solution is the versatile barrier papers that are recyclable and ideally biodegradable. The coating process for these papers is demanding; in addition to the perfect application of one or more functional layers, the drying of the sometimes temperature-sensitive application media is a challenge.

Valmet will supply a new container board making line with extensive packages of automation and services to Batı Kipas Kagıt Sanayi İsletmeleri in Söke, Turkey. The new board making line (PM 3) will produce high-quality fluting and liner grades. The start-up of PM 3 is scheduled for the third quarter of 2023.

Start-up is planned for the end of 2022.

Karl has been with Kadant U.K. for over 16 years supporting the fluid handling and doctoring, cleaning, and filtration product lines.

ANDRITZ has received an order from Visy Pulp & Paper for a 243,000 m3 chip handling and storage system, including a Stacker Reclaimer RST360, for its Tumut mill in New South Wales, Australia.

This approval means that Valmet´s climate targets support the Paris Climate Agreement's goal to limit global warming to 1.5°C and are based on the latest climate science.

Valmet will supply a multifuel power boiler and auxiliary process equipment to Kipaş Kağit Sanayi Isletmeleri A.Ş.'s paper mill in Kahramanmaraş, Turkey. The new boiler will improve the reliability of the paper mill's steam and electricity supply. Additionally, its steam production capacity will be sufficient for the mill's future paper machine PM 4.

The raw material is local wastepaper.

ABB has been contracted by machine supplier Voith to deliver drives and electrification to support the build of SCA's new kraftliner machine PM2 at its Obbola mill in Umeå, Sweden.

Kadant Inc. has completed its acquisition of Balemaster for $54 million in cash, subject to certain customary adjustments. Balemaster will become part of Kadant's Material Handling reporting segment.
