AFT recently had another successful refiner start-up with the BillerudKorsnäs group. Its new pulp mill reject refiner started-up in December at the 460,000 t/d Skärblacka mill in Sweden, designed to defiberize knots, shives and fiber bundles coming from pulp screening.

Since 1 May 2020, a 70% of ELIN Motoren GmbH has been owned by Voith Group. The other 30% of the company remained with the long-standing Managing Director Franz Hrachowitz. At the end of 2021, the two parties agreed on the acquisition of the remaining stake.

ANDRITZ has successfully started up a new 950 t/d HERB chemical recovery boiler at JK Paper Limited, Unit: CPM at Fort Songadh, in the Tapi District of Gujarat state, India.

The start-up is scheduled for the beginning of 2024.

Andritz has received an order from the Brazilian pulp and paper company Suzano to deliver an energy-efficient Ash ReCrystallization (ARC) plant for the recovery boilers at its eucalyptus kraft pulp mill in Barra do Riacho, Brazil. The estimated start-up date for the ARC plant is the first half of 2022.

International technology group Andritz has received a repeat order from Nine Dragons Paper Industries to supply a complete OCC line to China. Start-up is scheduled for the 3Q 2023.

ANDRITZ has received an order from the Mondi Group for an upgrade of the evaporation plant at its Mondi Frantschach mill, Austria.

Valmet will deliver an oxygen delignification system, including additional Valmet TwinRoll presses to Arkhangelsk's Pulp and Paper Mill in Novodvinsk, Russia. The order includes both technology and automation deliveries. The start-up of the new systems is scheduled for the second half of 2022.

Valmet will supply IQ Quality Control System to Oy Essity Finland Ab. The new system will replace the old third-party system and will be installed on production line 9 at the company's tissue mill in Nokia, Finland. The target is to optimize production and improve the quality of end-product. The delivery will take place in the first half of 2022.

Valmet will supply eleven Valmet Microwave Consistency Measurements (Valmet MCA) to SCA's Ortviken mill in Sweden.

Valmet will supply an extensive paper machine grade conversion rebuild with an automation package to Model Paper Eilenburg in Germany. In the project, the paper machine, which currently produces newsprint grades, will be rebuilt to produce lightweight, recycled containerboard grades. The start-up is scheduled for the beginning of 2024.The value of the order will not be disclosed. The total value of an order of this type and delivery scope is typically around Euro 90-100 million.

Valmet will supply a long-term Performance Agreement and a board machine rebuild to Metsä Board Husum in Sweden. The main goal is to increase board machine BM 1's Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) and annual folding boxboard (FBB) capacity by 200,000 tonnes. Valmet delivered BM 1 to Metsä Board in 2016. The start-up of the rebuilt BM 1 is scheduled to take place in the fall of 2023.

Andritz has successfully started up the first Andritz COMPACT PRESS wash press at BillerudKorsnäs' Gruvön mill located in Värmland, Sweden.

A project of this size and scope is typically valued at around EUR 60-70 million.

Valmet will supply a grade conversion rebuild to VPK's Alizay mill in France. In the project, the paper machine, which currently produces fine paper grades, will be rebuilt to produce recycled lightweight containerboard grades to support Alizay's plans for long-term sustainable development in circular economy.
