UPM Adhesive Materials, formerly known as UPM Raflatac, is investing in a new, state-of-the-art coating line and other facility and material handling upgrades in its label material factory in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

The largest and most modern consumer packaging board production line in Europe was inaugurated on 18 August in Oulu, Finland. Officials said the company's TimberStrand facility near Monticello and Warren is expected to bring 200 "high quality" jobs to the region upon completion.

Kimberly-Clark has announced plans for a $130 million expansion of its Mobile facilities, adding a new production line to make hygiene products.

The expansion is expected to create approximately 35 new jobs, adding to the more than 600 people Green Bay Packaging currently employs in Conway County. The company also noted that this investment could potentially double the production capacity of the Arkansas Kraft facility.

Smurfit Westrock--the packaging company formed through the merger of Ireland's Smurfit Kappa and U.S.-based Westrock--has approved a $150 million (about R$840 million) investment to expand and modernize its operations in Brazil. The investment, already cleared by the board, is expected to be implemented over a period of 18 to 22 months.

This latest Euro 15 million investment in Saint-Séverin underscores Ahlstrom's enduring commitment to sustainable innovation.
