Print

Antalis has extended its foothold in Europe with the purchase of Speidel Verpackungen, a German manufacturer of custom-made packaging solutions.

Financial terms of the deal remain undisclosed.

Established in 1981, Speidel Verpackungen employs 60 people and reported a revenue of nearly €17m ($19.5m) last year.

Its manufacturing work centres on corrugated and heavy-duty corrugated board, alongside wood and foam materials.

Antalis described the customised packaging segment as a "key growth driver" for the company.

Antalis CEO Hervé Poncin said: "We are delighted to welcome the team of Speidel Verpackungen to Antalis. Its extensive expertise in bespoke packaging perfectly complements our packaging organisation and will strengthen our customer offering."

Speidel Verpackungen managing director Rainer Speidel noted: "Joining Antalis is a fantastic opportunity for our company.

"As part of a leading global group in the packaging industry, we will have the resources and network to accelerate our growth, invest in new technologies, and bring our innovative, sustainable packaging solutions to a wider audience."

Last year, Antalis completed the acquisition of The Packaging Company (Midlands) in the UK for an undisclosed sum.

At the time, Antalis said the purchase will enable it to diversify its product offerings and that the combined strengths of the two businesses will enhance their ability to meet the growing demand for sustainable packaging solutions.
