Graz, Austria, 02 June 2010 -- International technology Group Andritz has been awarded an order by Holmen AB’s subsidiary Iggesund Paperboard to supply a 2400 tons/day High Energy Recovery Boiler (HERB) to the Iggesund mill in Sweden.

In terms of its power-to-heat ratio, the new boiler will be the most efficient recovery boiler in the world. Start-up of the boiler will be in the second quarter of 2012.

The new boiler will increase Iggesund’s electricity production from 210 to 520 GWh/a. The investment is part of an energy efficiency program to make the Iggesund mill energy self-sufficient. The investment will enable the mill to operate without using fossil fuels.
