Powers, Oregon, USA 07 January 2015 -- KVAL-TV reported on Wednesday, 7 January 2015, that loggers found a coworker unresponsive on Plum Creek timberland and drove to a high point in the mountains to get cell service to call 911 on Monday.

The Coos County Sheriff's Office reported that John M. Martin, 55, of Coquille, appears to have died from natural causes.

Coworkers from Grant Creek Logging found Martin 200 yards down into the logging unit on Plum Creek timberland in Eden Valley, near Powers. The loggers drove to a higher elevation to locate cell service and call for help.

The sheriff's office got the report just after 4 p.m.

Members of Grant Creek logging, Plum Creek and the sheriff's office worked for 2 hours in dark, steep and hazardous conditions to retrieve Martin's body from the logging unit, according to KVAL-TV.
