Steinbeis Papier to Increase Production Capacity
Print

Gluckstadt, Germany 14 January 2016 -- New drives will increase operating speed and production capacity of PM 4, says Steinbeis Papier.

Germany's recycled paper manufacturer Steinbeis Papier is planning to invest some €15m to upgrade its paper machine PM 4 and install an automated warehouse system at the Glückstadt mill. The two projects are reportedly in the tendering phase. The capacity expansion project is scheduled for completion in 2017.

Steinbeis Papier plans to revamp the drives system of the PM 4 in order to increase the machine's construction speed. This would raise the production capacity from roughly 160,000 tpy to around 180,000 tpy, according to the company. Besides, the project is focused on using the PM 4 exclusively for producing copy and inkjet paper in future. Currently, Steinbeis is producing up to 25,000 tpy of recycled magazine paper on the PM 4.
