SKG Restarts Operations at Cellulose du Pin Mill
Print

Dublin, Ireland 21 September 2017 -- Smurfit Kappa Group has been facing some problems with its recovery boiler at the Cellulose du Pin mill. This resulted in some downtime in August and September.

Smurfit Kappa Group (SKG) has resumed production at its Cellulose du Pin containerboard mill in France on 19 September. The company explained it had to stop operations at the site due to a recovery boiler outage. Production has been down for a total of six days, leading to delays of deliveries to customers, according to SKG.

Already in August, problems concerning the recovery boiler had forced the company to temporarily halt production. At that time, operations were interrupted for a three days, SKG says.

The Cellulose du Pin mill produces kraftliner, white-top kraftliner as well as white-top testliner for application in industrial and food packaging. The site has an annual capacity of 520,000 tpy. 60% of the mill's output is exported.
