Klabin Performs General Shutdown

Sao Paulo, Brazil, South America 31 March 2015 -- Between 7 and 16 April, Klabin work in their unit Correia Pinto (SC) the Annual General Parade, which consists of discontinuation of paper production to perform maintenance that will ensure the proper functioning of equipment, safety and the quality of the production process.

In these 10 days, about 50 contractors and 1,500 employees will be involved in the 3rd General Shutdown. Among the main activities are planned inspections of boilers, digesters, generation systems and power distribution and control of the production process. The number on the 3rd demand for workers a logistics and an infrastructure that include transportation, accommodation, meals and other items that move and stimulate the economy of Correia Pinto and region. Added to this is other benefits such as taxes generated for the city and the extra movement of hotels, bars, restaurants and shops, as well as support services in workers staying in the city.

During the days stop, odors and noise variations from the factory, especially on days 7 and 8, beginning of maintenance, and on days 15 and 16, resumption of operations of equipment, may be perceived by the community. Importantly, these changes do not cause damage to human health and or the environment.
